‘The educational offer to children in Shotley bridge Primary School throughout national school-closure will be the same for those children learning at home and for those on the premises. Teachers are planning learning that the children can access with the knowledge that for many there may be limited support from adults at home and on-site. Children accessing learning on-site are required to work far more independently than in normal schooling to enable staff to: provide teaching to children at home, monitor home learning, provide live feedback to children at home and to answer questions from children and parents throughout the school day. On-site, to limit the risk of transmission of infection, the areas of provision that would normally be open for child-initiated learning remain inaccessible and children are directed to specific areas of the classroom i.e. a table or a carpet.
All children have face-to-face contact with their class teacher and class-mates via Teams meetings every school day.
All children and their adults can communicate via the Teams conversation or Seesaw every day regarding their needs.
All children can communicate socially with their class-mates via Teams conversation each day, when their learning tasks are completed.
All children can upload their work or pictures of their work via SeeSaw or the School admin email address, each day. Teaching staff will give feedback on each child’s learning throughout the day.
Children who need a paper-based offer can receive this from school.
All children will receive a blended offer of learning which includes: explanations of learning, live teaching by class teacher, recorded teaching by class teacher, teaching videos from providers such as White Rose maths, Oak Academy, Cbeebies, BBC Bitesize etc…
