We began our Rights Respecting journey in 2010 and gained UNICEF’s Rights Respecting School Award Level 1 in June 2012.
As a Level 1 Rights Respecting School we place the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) at the heart of our school ethos. We seek to embed the CRC into our curriculum as widely as possible both in classrooms and whole school assemblies. We have developed a school, playground and lunchtime charter, which we remind the children of during assembly times.
Children undestand that everyone has rights, both adults and children, and that alongside rights go the responsibility to respect the rights of others. This includes respect for parents, their values and culture.
