At Shotley Bridge Primary School there is a standard uniform for children which we encourage them to wear.
Uniform
- Grey/black trousers/skirt/pinafore/shorts
- White polo shirt
- Bright red sweatshirt/cardigan/hooded sweatshirt
- White, Red , Black or Grey socks or tights
- A red and white gingham dress may be worn in the summer
- Plain black school shoes/boots or trainers.
P.E. Kit
Y1 – Y6 come to school wearing their PE kit on allocated PE days:
- Plain black shorts/jogging bottoms/leggings
- Red, round neck t-shirt (no buttons or fastenings)
- Bright red sweatshirt/cardigan/hooded sweatshirt (the same as any other day of the week)
- Trainers/plimsolls (plimsolls only to be worn until outgrown and replaced with trainers)
Reception change at school for their allocated PE days until they return to school after the Easter holidays: same as Y1 – Y6 after Easter holidays (see above)
- Plain black shorts/jogging bottoms/leggings

- A draw string bag to keep all items in at school
Jewellery and Hairstyles
The wearing of any jewellery (including hair braids) is NOT allowed because of the possible danger to the wearer and to other pupils. Children should not have their hair dyed or styled in extreme fashions during term time. Longer hair must be tied back in school.
Book-bag
A Shotley Bridge Primary School book bag is available to order from Border Embroideries (see below). We encourage all children to have a book-bag to carry their reading books and home/school diaries, as well as personal items, on a daily basis.

We have a school uniform recycling scheme, please ask in the school office for details. Items for recycling can be left in either building.
